Usage for AUTOLOGIN.REG and NO_AUTOLOGIN.REG -------------------------------------------- The two files are included in directory D:\USER\DATA in order to allow users of the LAN-Interface (Option B16) to enable/disable the autologin mechanism used to automatically startup the instrument firmware. In order to disable the autologin mechanism the following steps have to be executed: 1. Switch the instrument off, connect a PC keyboard to the instrument and reboot it 2. Press to open the Windows-NT start menu 3. Select RUN and enter the following line when prompted for the program to execute: D:\USER\NO_AUTOLOGIN 4. Press the FREQ key on the frontpanel in order to set the input focus back on the instrument firmware. On the next reboot the instrument will prompt you for the user name and password (both are per default set to 'instrument'; please note that passwords are case-sensitive). In order to re-enable the autologin mechanism, steps 1, 2 and 4 have to be executed in the same way; step 3 has to be modified as follows: 3. Select RUN and enter the following line when prompted for the program to execute: D:\USER\AUTOLOGIN On the next reboot the instrument will prompt you for the user name and password if different to 'instrument'; in this case both entries have to be set to 'instrument'. Please note that passwords are case-sensitive. On subsequent reboots the instrument will automatically log into the measurement firmware. 27.09.2000 O. Steffke
